Full Moon Tonight!

Well, this is rare. There are TWO full moons in October! The first one, on the 1st. The other, Oct 31st. Full moons bookend the month.

Tomorrow night’s full moon is also known as the ‘Harvest Moon’. One of the most celebrated full moon names! Back in the day, named by farmer’s as at the peak of harvest, farmers could work late into the night by the light of this moon. It makes its appearance starting at 6:05pm our time this evening, as the sun sets right around 7pm these days. The Harvest Moon is known as the full moon that falls closest to the beginning of fall.

Some fun facts about this ‘harvest moon’ full moon:
-It rises around the time of sunset for several evenings in a row – this will make it feel like the full moon lasts a few nights
-This year it’ll be near Mars
